About sarging, daemons & snow ice

Good stuff coming in this festive season. (But burning my wallet as well..oh well) Had a wonderful dinner at HK Cafe @ Cineleisure Shopping Mall. Ordered some pork chop spaghetti. Though tasted good, kind of regretted not ordering their famous cheese baked noodle...

Lastly for dessert, 5 of my pals & I shared a large bowl of yummy mango snow ice with mango ice cream as a topping. Yummy!!!

Just bought 'His Dark Materials' by Philip Pullman. Though almost as thick as my Lord of The Rings trilogy, this one is easier for the kids, but as complicated for adults to like it. Will start reading it soon and see what the fuss it makes. LOL

Ahhh....Sarging. There's a lot about 'The Game' than meets the eye. It's about Neil Strauss' "The Game" which tells the secret world of pick-up artists and how they preform in life. The next book he recently released, 'The Rules of the Game' was more of helping clueless guys like me on how to transit from a mandune dude to a Casanova romantic. And also an in-depth scope of the author's life. Got both of the books btw.

If you want to know more about his works or the world of pick-up artists, do clicky here. Sorry, for guys who are 'out of luck' in dating only.

Just ignore the dude on the video...

And listen to the song. And no. There's no lip-syncing or sound editing to it. It's his voice!

I have to post something interesting, right? Hope this is interesting enough. ;-)

Yippee!! Got HIO!!!

In Pangya that is... In Sepia Wind Hole 13. Lucky 13. Anyway, it's my first HIO and it was finally since I was almost reaching Senior Rank. It would be a really bad impression if I don't even have a HIO in my record once I reached Senior Rank, right? I'm satisfied with Kooh now since I spent half of my 'pangs' on her when I started using her... And she broke a few records for me too.

Hope Kaz in next Season 3 will do the same for me. ;-)

P.S, if you want to find me in Pangya, please head down to SEA server. My username is of course 'mewletter'!!!

Upgrading my MP3 Player...

Wonder if I should had sell my old 5GB Zen Neeon player & buy the New ZenV Plus 8GB later, than just 'upgrading' it to Zen VPlus... $30 discount off... Hmm...

Anyway, it's still cheap when I got Neeon for $329. Still, it's much smaller, yet more storage space than my old MP3 player. I still call it a good trade-in. I can see videos & pictures of it too. (but then again, most portable devices CAN)

Clicky here for its website.

P.S, just added a few widgets on my blog today. Hope this entertain you guys while I'm working on posts at least weekly. ;-)

Not even my niece's Toy puppy, Woof-woof, is cuter than the REAL DEAL. LOL

Love to be in Alice's shoes...

Alice from 'Alice the Wonderland' that is. That was one of my favorite childhood stories. And I absolutely love make-believe worlds, though aliens' & humanized robots' worlds are my cup of tea. But then there's a few fantasy movies that I like.

Apart from the Lord of Rings trilogy, Mirrormask, Pan's Labyrinth & Sky Captain and the Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow, the next hot movie of that sort of category IMO is The Golden Compass. Had read 'His Dark Materials' Omnibus and love it. And the movie stars Nicole Kidman & Christopher Lee. ;-)

Do clicky here. My Daemon is Pelagia BTW. (If you know WHAT animal is that..LOL)

PS. I know that I should had mentioned Alice from Resident Evil, but I'm not much of a fan of zombies and end-of-the-world stuff. But I like that freaky hologram girl & her freekin' lasers! LOL

SIA's new Airbus 380 Cabins

A quick post here. Just saw this clip about Singapore Airlines' newest plane; A380. If it's not superb, I don't know what to called it. The Suite Class reminds me of a crossover between a cruise ship's and a trains' cabin. You can visit their site by clicky here.

Cars, online golf and Judas

It's been a long time since my last post. I need to keep a goal of posting it at least weekly...but I keep wondering what stuff to post about. Oh well.

Yesterday, I spotted this super-cool car while doing some mindless window-shopping in a foreigners/expats' shopping haven called Holland Village. Does anyone recognize the model? Sorry not much of a car geek.

Another thing I want to talk about is a cool online golfing game called Pangya. (Albatross18 for American Server) It has uber-cute characters, outrageous outfits for them to wear, and of course the intense competition on getting the top ranks in tournaments. The courses are way more interesting than real-life ones. LOL

If you're from South-east Asia, clicky here. If you're from Korea, (doubt I have Korean guests watching my blog! LOL) clicky here. If you're a Yankee or Canadian, clicky here.

Last but not least, I want to blog about the infamous betrayer in Christian History; Judas Iscariot. I just borrowed a book titled Gospel of Judas recently. Out of interest on this man's Point Of View that the other Disciples hate. It makes you wonder the authenticity and it's incredible journey across modern times. (It was stolen and sold in black market once before)

Do you think this extremely old Gospel is really Judas' account? Or was it an old fake? Clicky here if you're interested to get a copy. ;-)

P.S, National Geographic has a webpage on it too. You can also clicky here to see this rare document.

Settling down and making plans

As almost a month past since I became a junior technician, I had made some rough plans on what I will do in next few years. Home is kinda dull since most of my family are at overseas, touring South Korea. (boo-hoo for me?)

For me, I had decided to visit Key West and had a traditional, old-fashioned American road trip from Long Island to the sunny Keys. This was inspired by one of my favorite books, Callahan's Key, where 23 bus loads of barflies and weirdoes made a great move to there. As usual, this wonderful book was written by Spider Robinson, one of my favorite authors. Do clicky here if you don't know his website.

P.S, he has a regular podcast until November on his website, where you get an audio sample of his incredible story, Variable Star. (Can't believe I can't get it in Borders. Gonna push strings for it!)

Bird Park Encounter

Last weekend, I spent my morning/afternoon with my family at Jurong Bird Park. It's been years (1o years maybe) since I been there. Thankfully, my sis got free entry tickets. The shows, like last time, hardly have any changes. But nevertheless, it was entertaining. The most memorable event is the feeding Lories at Lory Loft. It was remarkable experience to have 3 and more multi-colored feathered creatures parching on my arm and feeding liquid goo. (Don't ask what it is)

Here the link to the Bird Park website. Clicky here.

New Google Earth! Comes with Google Sky!

In some cases, I'm considered to be a late post since this new version Google Earth had came out for over a month. Still, there might a few ppl out there might not aware it.

Google Earth. There's a lot privacy issues when it first hit the web, but had a new meaning of surfing the World. Cool features had added in, especially the coming of Google Sky. I'm quite an avid Astronomy fan, but I'm too short of cash to buy a telescope. Living in a heavily urbanized neighborhood made night-time sky viewing impossible. But with this new program, I can watch them even in broad daylight.

Here are the two clips regarding Google Earth and its new, built-in program, Google Sky. Enjoy.

The clip above is from the famous Matt of Youtube. The one below show the marvel of Google Sky. So what are you waiting for? Go get Google Earth by cliky HERE. It's free. (Unless you want the Pro version)

All about bars, sci-fi & space dancers...

Let me introduce one of my favourite authors; Spider Robinson. Some of his works are the Callahan Series, the Stardance trilogy & the Deathkiller Series. I had personally had the entire Callahan Series and had opened my point of view and mind like a blooming flower. From the articles I read, he's a hard-core Robert Heinlein fan (my favourite too) and had a sense of witty humor that will make you roll all over.

Currently, he's continuing his story from 'Very Bad Deaths' which I will get it when I had the energy to search for it... And his lovely wife, Jeanne, is preparing the Stardance movie. Anyway, here are the links you should visit:

Clicky here for Spider's website. It hardly update though. But had cool songs he wrote, played and sang by him. Anyone heard of Amos Garret?

Clicky here for Jeanne's Stardance website. Tells you all the developments of the movie and a small clip from Youtube.

Clicky here for the forum that Spider indirectly spawned and influenced it. Check my posts as Cyberapto2!!!

Hope you guys get a glimpse of sci-fi fun.

After a month long break from Com....

Assuming that breaking away from my PC for a month to concentrate on my new job would help me, it became evident that the reverse was true. Oh well, back to the drawing board I guess.

Anyway, just recently upgraded my old P4 PC to Dual Core, and needed a lot of new RE-installations to it.

Another disappointment I had was to miss this big event in Kansas City, USA; The Robert A. Heinlein Centennial. I'm a truly hard-core sci-fi fan and a strong supporter of the space advancement. After all, the space race is NOT over... Just us and our homeworld, Earth. And the stakes are much higher if nations (or giant corps to be exact) don't work together before it puts a deadly strain to this planet. Anyway clicky here.

Mixin' Stage Magic & Humor into Common Sense

Two of my favorite Atheists, Peen & Teller (My other favorites are Bruce Lee, Jodie Foster & Douglas Adams) They are both funny, entertaining and smart, but most of all, very caring people. They really hate people getting conned and suffered from scams and frauds.(or simply 'suckered' into)

Thus their show, Penn & Teller: Bullsh**! is a must for people who have common sense and needed help to see what is true, or just plain Bullsh**. And don't you dare say Atheists are the most dangerous people in the world; Anybody could become the Most dangerous in the World!

'Bad' Ppl + Religion = Abuse + Cult

Which explains why Jesus hates Pharisees a lot. Even today, there are modern-day 'Pharisees' like some idiots who claimed that natural disasters(hurricanes, earthquakes, etc)happen because god is angry at secular sinners? I remembered clearly that the Bible did mentioned that the sky rains and shines on both good and bad people. And some ppl who believed creationism whole-heartedly. Earth is only about 6000 years and humans co-existed with dinosaurs? Some one has been watching WAY too much Flintstones cartoons. Clicky here.

Is it about time that there's way too many ppl been brainwashed and abused by these 'Pharisees'? Does anyone have an article on how to spot a Modern-day 'Pharisees'?

Having a faulty hard drive?

Before you go out and spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars to recover those precious data in that broken hard disk, try this method. Put your hard disk in a zip bag, put it in the freezer overnight, take it out and quickly put back to your CPU and try run it again. Do mind the condensation and it's highly effective. If it works, do transfer the data to another disk and discard the 'broken' one, since it's a 'temporary' solution. But it's enough to recover those data.

But do remember that it's not a guarantee. So do it on your own risk.

28 new Exo-planets Revealed

Finding planets in other nearby star systems are a lot harder to find distant galaxies. Anyway, one of them is the Gliese 436 C; a kinda of Earth/Neptune hybrid planet. Larger than Earth, had traces of water (trying to confirm here) and had a nice, cool temperature.

Is this the future?

Of course it depends how much government, bureaucrats and red tape and other hindrances like terrorism prevent such a future from happening. Still, it's kinda freaky. What do I mean? Check out Discovery Channel's 2057, and you will know how close flying cars will be a norm. LOL

My favorite music artistes I

As I getting the habits and thrills of blogging, I will be posting about my favorite artists every now and then. A small glimpse of what I have in my Creative Zen and currently listening to. Today, my first chosen ones are Moby and Tracey Thorn (aka EBTG).

First, the lady. If you never heard a band called Everything But the Girl way back in mid-1990s and late 80s, you either never being to a nightclub, or haven't born yet. Currently, she's having a solo album called Out of the Woods and her husband, Ben (also a member of EBTG) is currently running a nightclub. Here's a current MV of the album; Raise the Roof. Do clicky here and here.

Moby. Another famous dude to hit the club scenes. A bald and happy vegetarian who has great hits like 'Porcelain' and 'We Are All Made of Stars'. An active MoveOn activist & currently DJ-ing in the Europe tour. Here a MV called 'Honey'. Hope you enjoy. Oh do clicky here.

Is that a router or PC?

This is in my opinion, looks like the ideal PC for casual users and techno-exposed kids. It looks as small as my netgear wireless router, a decent hardware specs, silent, (no fan sound you often heard from typical PCs) and really low-cost. (Did I mention it's power-usage is incredibly low?) Still it's in beta, and here's the demo @ this uber-techie's site. Clicky here.

And what ingenious product's name is? Zonbu. Weird name. LOL. Clicky here.

A brillantly Spiderman 3 Review...

Warning: Foul Language

Other than that, see some actors swearing and making fun of themselves while talking about the movie. Sure is funny as Hell. You need a good Internet connection to see it. Sorry for 56k Users... ;)

Planting a World Map on my blog...

So what do you think of 'my' world map, guys?

At least I know whether I'm getting noticed other than the 'Little Red Dot Island'. LOL Anyway, more updates will be here soon. Just need to clean-up some waste in my living quarters...

Tragedy @ the military exercise

Two Singaporeans among four killed in Taiwan military jet crash

The weird thing is that I was imagining what if somebody uses the Death Note and kill off the fighter pilots just a few days before this freak incident happened. I had imagined those pilots had sudden heart attacks, crashing their plane. Creepy... Hope it wasn't a Shinngami playing games around!

Oh btw, here's a little video of the Encyclopedia of Life website. Do help collect and preserve the precious data called living creatures. Clicky here!

Parody of the Beginning

Something gothic....

Sure, I like nice & cute things. But I also like something gruesome and morbid. Not those 'Jason' or 'slasher' type, but something like 'Nightmare before Christmas' & 'The Corpse Bride' type. I'm not really 'attracted' by these scary stuff, but hey, weird it is and weird am I.

Here is my first collection of something...dark

http://crookedsixpence.com/new/

Creator of Children R Skary, Kelly Towell is a true Goth with a sense of black humor and artistic touch. Her other website www.skary.net shows why children can be adults' worst nightmare...

http://www.illwillpress.com/

A Central Park Squirrel with a hyper-sonic voice & his depressed Goth Chick owner are the main characters of this website's flash shows. Meet Foamy as he rants all things under this God-forsaken world, while his owner, Germaine denies the fact she's getting fat.

http://www.emilystrange.com/beware/indexmain.cfm

If you haven't heard of Emily, where are you been hiding? She's a goth gal with her four black, not-really-friendly cats. She loves what most people fears, and loathes at all things cute & cuddly. An upcoming icon since Fox has announced that they will help make a live action and animated film based on Emily. Watch out for her!

Be warned, its truly not for the common sense...

If Venom/Eddie Brock is a Chinese...

I know I haven't done much update to this blog often, but once I get things settled like finding a permanent job and finding interesting to do, I get this thing going.

Anyway, I had came across this guy that could easily portrayed Spiderman's gruesome villain. Wai Teik is a photographer like Eddie though the character is also a reporter. Anyway, he quite big but too bad he's quite relent to show off his physique. Here's the link to his site.

My first pics...

So here it is, my second post. I think I will give a shot at posting pics by posting my niece's professional photo shoots. Her name is Megan and will be reaching 2 years old somewhere in April. And yes, like most babies, she will use her screaming tantrums to get things what she wants, though I do know some people who STILL do that to get what they want... Anyway hope you like them!

Tuesday 30 January 2007

My first Post!!!

Right. Let's get started with a little intro. I'm a somewhat typical, modern, geeky, having Charlie Brown's personality guy living a somewhat TOO comfy tiny island country called Singapore. So what stuff I gonna post? Gratitudes and good stuff happening in my life, concerns, interesting web links, and of course, my passion and interests.

And along the way, I might find my true talents and purpose in life. Who knows what I will become in a few years time... So keep watching this blog!!! As for photos of me, I'll post it as soon as I can get my hands on a new scanner & camera. Peace.

Music Catch 2
